The FABBB Cake

This cake was for a family who had a lot going on one weekend. They asked for a simple white cake, because they were celebrating a baptism, a baby blessing, a birthday, an anniversary, and Father's Day all on one day. I gave them their white cake - but hid in details to cover everything. This was a chocolate cake, with fudgy chocolate frosting in the middle, covered in vanilla buttercream.
F - Father's Day (tie design on the top of the cake)
A - Anniversary (wedding rings design around outside)
B - Birthday (balloons design around the bottom as a border)
B - Baby Blessing (swoops around the cake with a baby shape)
B - Baptism (water border around the bottom)

The Happiest Happy Birthday Cake
When the old missionaries left our ward (see the beer cake entry), the new missionaries rotated in were Sister Missionaries. (Yay!) We also had them for dinner one night, and got to talking about cake. Funny enough, one of the Sister's birthdays was in about a week or two, so again, I volunteered to make her birthday cake. She wanted something crazy and artsy, so this is what I made for her. (Inspiration thanks to "The Whimsical Bakehouse" cookbook.) This was a devil's food chocolate cake, with chocolate chip cookies n' cream filling, covered in white and colored buttercream. (I used the leftover icing to make some crazy cupcakes.) She loved it!!!

The Treasure Chest Cake
This cake was for the Naperville 6th Ward's Young Women's "New Beginnings" night. The theme: "Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies." This was layered - white, chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla cakes, covered in buttercream frosting and fondant, decorated with various candies.

The Elder Beer Cake :o
We had the missionaries over for dinner one night, and got to talking about my cakes. Elder Kotowski joked that I should make him a birthday cake, since his birthday was in a couple of weeks. I volunteered (of course!), and then asked what he would like. He told me about his family poking fun for him turning 21, and about some jokes they were making - so he thought it would be really funny to have a beer cake. Your wish is my command! :os This was a confetti cake, with buttercream frosting, topped with cool whip.

Madalyn's Princess Cake
Finally! I made a princess cake. For a princess party! The birthday girl LOVED it.
This was a rice krispies cake, with fondant detail. (We made chocolate and vanilla cupcakes for serving.) I certainly hope there are more of these in my future. It was so much fun!

Logan's 4th Birthday Cake - Lightning McQueen!
Logan's cake was made to his request this year - "only chocolate", and Lightning McQueen. I made cupcakes to serve to the kids at his party (much easier than dye and fondant everywhere!)...
This was a chocolate cake, with chocolate buttercream, topped with fondant. The cupcakes were chocolate/vanilla, with chocolate/vanilla buttercream, sprinkled with sugar crystals and "dirt" crumbs.

Baby Shower Cake
This cake was for someone who attended Carin's baby shower, and really liked the gift box cake idea. The couple knew they were having a boy, so we tied in the pastel green and blue along with the brown ribbon. This was a white cake, with buttercream frosting and fondant details.

The Halloween Cake
This is a cake for someone my husband works with - and I decided to use a little 'artistic freedom' with it. :o)
This is a red velvet cake, with buttercream, and fondant details. The pictures below illustrate the hand-planted wheat field, all the way to the lit Jack-O-Lantern on top.
Spooooooky!

Happy Halloween!!!!
