The Happiest Happy Birthday Cake
When the old missionaries left our ward (see the beer cake entry), the new missionaries rotated in were Sister Missionaries. (Yay!) We also had them for dinner one night, and got to talking about cake. Funny enough, one of the Sister's birthdays was in about a week or two, so again, I volunteered to make her birthday cake. She wanted something crazy and artsy, so this is what I made for her. (Inspiration thanks to "The Whimsical Bakehouse" cookbook.) This was a devil's food chocolate cake, with chocolate chip cookies n' cream filling, covered in white and colored buttercream. (I used the leftover icing to make some crazy cupcakes.) She loved it!!!

The Treasure Chest Cake
This cake was for the Naperville 6th Ward's Young Women's "New Beginnings" night. The theme: "Who can find a virtuous woman? For her price is far above rubies." This was layered - white, chocolate, strawberry, and vanilla cakes, covered in buttercream frosting and fondant, decorated with various candies.

The Elder Beer Cake :o
We had the missionaries over for dinner one night, and got to talking about my cakes. Elder Kotowski joked that I should make him a birthday cake, since his birthday was in a couple of weeks. I volunteered (of course!), and then asked what he would like. He told me about his family poking fun for him turning 21, and about some jokes they were making - so he thought it would be really funny to have a beer cake. Your wish is my command! :os This was a confetti cake, with buttercream frosting, topped with cool whip.
